Jealous Jitzey Paper Plate Craft

With assistance this easy craft can be tailored for ages 3-8 (but my 2-year-old did complete the example).

With just a few materials you can help your child create their own Jealous Jitzey. You can even change up the colors and help them make a spider that is unique to them.

This craft can be a great review for the story and help your child gain a better understanding of the lessons in the book. It gives them the opportunity to be creative and a little messy.

Younger children can practice their cutting skills and counting skills. Older children can write on the spider legs what makes them special and/or ways they have been jealous in the past.

Jealous Jitzey Sensory Toddler Activity

If you are like me, it can be hard to find time to do chores when you have a toddler. I have found one of the best ways to get things done with minimal mess is to put my daughter in her highchair with an activity while I do things like the dishes. She loves Jealous Jitzey, so we used kinetic sand (playdough or clay can work too) and pipe cleaners to make our own Jealous Jitzey.

She loved making the body herself and sticking on the legs (and pulling them out repeatedly. It kept her entertained for at least 30 minutes. For any parent, 30 minutes of quiet time is a win (even if there was little mess to clean up afterwards).
